My Journey:
My journey in construction began back in 2002, during my high school years. I was lucky enough to start out by working alongside my uncle on his custom home builds. It wasn’t just about learning the trade for me; it was about discovering a deep passion for construction. There was something special about the feeling I got from seeing a project come together—the pride in workmanship, the satisfaction of knowing I had a hand in creating something lasting.
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats in the construction world. I’ve been a superintendent, overseeing the day-to-day operations on various job sites. I’ve worked as a project manager in consulting, where I honed my knowledge in the construction defect litigation field. In 2012, I became a licensed general contractor, taking my experience and passion to the next level.
Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant: my commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Whether it’s a large-scale project or a small home improvement job, I approach every task with the same level of dedication and care. It’s not just about getting the job done; it’s about doing it right.
MY START IN BUSINESS:
In 2012, I took the leap and founded Troy Cox Construction, driven by a desire to bring my vision of quality craftsmanship and customer-focused service to life. Over the years, as my experience and aspirations grew, so did the scope of my business. This evolution led to the rebranding of my original company into True Blue Remodeling, a design-build firm that now specializes in turning clients’ dreams into beautifully crafted realities.
A Vision for Change:
In 2023, I recognized a gap in the home improvement industry that needed to be addressed. That’s when I decided to launch Helpful Handy Pro, a brand dedicated to small projects that didn’t quite fit within the scope of True Blue Remodeling. My goal was to create a service that would stand out by tackling the frustrations many homeowners face—no call, no shows, poor customer service, subpar quality, and slow response times. Helpful Handy Pro is built on a foundation of reliability, quality workmanship, and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations in every project, no matter the size.
